Targeted skincare ingredients, energy-based treatments & injectable procedures: The ultimate power trio
12:10 - 12:30
Energy based devices can effectively treat a variety of indications including; photodamage, skin rejuvenation/scarring/resurfacing, tightening & firming, fat reduction, build muscle, improve vascular concerns, as well as hair reduction. Many can deliver standalone results over a course of treatment, with cumulative maintenance benefits, but can also be combined effectively with many other modalities, often to target multiple concerns. This session will explore the potential combined approaches of energy-based treatments, alongside injectables, and targeted skincare formulations through case studies. This power trio delivers natural and lasting results, on the face, neck and body.
This session will consider key issues and implications relating to and arising from the Westminster Government’s proposals for the implementation of new premises and practitioner licenses for aesthetic practice in England. Key information will be provided on what to expect from the new license with regard to education and training and practice competence development requirements, along with other key statutory standards. Delegates will be presented with a range of updates on how we anticipate the new license to operate and function. A timeline for the implementation of the license will be proposed. Importantly issues relating to supervision, prescribing and product supply will also be considered.

Dr Ahmed El Muntasar
AWARD-WINNING GP AND AESTHETICIAN
Describing himself as an ‘innate nerd’, Libyan-born Dr Ahmed El Muntasar arrived at St Andrews University in Scotland at just 16 – which at the time made him the youngest ever medical student on record there and the only Arabic International doctor on his course. Completing his BSC in medical sciences before moving to Manchester where he gained his medical degree, he then travelled south to London’s UCL where he ticked off his ‘medical leadership’ masters. His intrinsic desire for continued learning hasn’t waned and by the time he opened his first aesthetics clinic in 2018 aged just 26, he’d completed twelve courses in aesthetics as opposed to just the one current requirement to practice.
Initially set on being a plastic surgeon, it was only after working in this field that he decided he didn’t like the expectations that came with the procedures. Following whisperings of ‘aesthetics’ he finally found his medical niche. “Aesthetics wasn’t mentioned in med school or education. Plastics fixated on an issue and there’s lots of consultations and back and forth and there can be numerous procedures. With Injectables you get instant results. I’m a sucker for science so I look at everything from the safety data to complication rates and spend weeks sampling everything, including how things inject/the swelling/the long-term results. I have a high level of trust with my patients and they know everything has been vetted by me. You won’t find things like B12 injections or more ‘wellness’ options on my menu, I’m sticking with science,” says Dr Ahmed.
Following his success, Dr Ahmed now has clinics in 3 locations, London, Leeds and Cheshire. Located in Mayfair in the heart of London, this sophisticated haven offers a unique blend of cutting-edge cosmetic treatments and a refined ambiance that caters to the discerning clientele. Its discreet entrance ensures privacy, catering to high-profile clients seeking utmost confidentiality. The clinic's commitment to innovation means it stays at the forefront of the ever-evolving field of aesthetic medicine.
